Frequently asked questions
Insurance
The contract stipulates that the battery may be discharged only twice by professionals. Beyond these two discharges, replacements or compensation are no longer covered by the insurance.
Theft and damage insurance is not required when you sign up. However, we strongly recommend that you purchase theft and damage insurance, either through your usual insurer or through the policy offered by Véligo Location.
The goods being transported are not insured. Only the bicycle is covered under the terms of the contract.
If you have chosen to purchase Zen or Zen+ insurance, you are covered by an assistance plan. If your bike breaks down, it will be towed to a repair center, your home, or your workplace.

The Zen and Zen+ insurance plans cover the following risks: partial theft, total theft, vandalism, and breakage. They also include 24/7 assistance in the event that your bike is rendered unusable.
The Zen+ insurance plan offers a reduced deductible.

Returning the bike
If you do not wish to renew your rental or have already done so, you have fourteen calendar days after receiving the email and/or text message regarding renewal or the end of the rental period to return the bike to a fixed or mobile Maison du Vélo location (free option) or to an address of your choice (paid option). The bike must be returned before the rental end date specified in the contract, on the day and at the time of the appointment scheduled with the Véligo Location advisor.
- To return the bike to a Maison du vélo location, you must schedule an appointment through your customer account.
- If you choose to have the bike picked up at an address of your choice, our carrier will contact you to schedule an appointment.
All the information you need to prepare for returning the bike is available via this link.
The user must clean the bike before returning it to us at the end of the rental period.
The bike and its accessories must be returned in a condition that is reasonably clean compared to when they were picked up. If this is not the case and certain parts are defective, penalties may be applied upon return of the bike.
At the time of return, a bike return receipt will be issued. Repairs to the bike and accessories will be billed. We will cover repairs resulting from normal wear and tear, while you are responsible for damage, loss, or defects resulting from premature or unusual wear and tear.
For any questions or complaints, please contact our Customer Service Center.
Subscription process
Starting in 2026, a network of 8 permanent Bike Centers and 7 mobile Bike Centers will provide advisory and test services as close as possible to professionals, including those in the inner and outer suburbs.
The mobile Bike Centers are deployed throughout the Île-de-France region, with extended hours so you can find a Bike Center near you.
Véligo Location’s goal is to help professionals adopt carbon-free mobility for the trips essential to their business, and to raise their awareness of the possibilities offered by electric cargo bikes in terms of cargo capacity and the benefits they bring to their daily efficiency. We felt it was essential to support them throughout their decision-making process and guide them toward the solution best suited to their line of work. This consultation with a mobility advisor at Maison du Vélo allows them to ask an expert questions directly, see, touch, and even test ride the different models before signing up. It also provides an opportunity to address issues related to adapting their work processes, parking and securing the equipment (especially overnight), maintenance, and repairs...
Contract
- Report it to the appropriate law enforcement authorities within 48 business hours.
- Report it through your Customer Account or via the Customer Service Call Center within 48 calendar hours.
- If you have subscribed to one of the Zen or Zen+ insurance plans, you must also report it to the insurer [provide link]
You will be asked to return the battery(ies), battery charger(s), and keys, along with instructions on how to proceed.
In the event of theft or loss of the bicycle, the Customer is liable to the operator for the replacement value specified in Appendix 2. If the Customer has purchased insurance and the claim is approved, the Customer is liable only for the deductible.
In the event of bicycle theft, if the Customer returns the battery to the operator, its value will be deducted from the total amount due.
In the event of theft or vandalism by a third party, the Customer may request a replacement bicycle and/or battery of the same category, provided they are available. The Customer must be current on all payments. Replacement is permitted only once per contract. The bicycle is returned in accordance with the terms of Article 5. The Customer is not required to complete another Mobility Assessment.
If the Customer or the Operator does not wish to replace the bicycle:
- If the rental involved a single bicycle, the contract is terminated immediately at the Customer’s initiative, in accordance with Article 7-2;
- If the rental involved two or more bicycles, the contract is amended to reflect the change in the number of bicycles.
It is not possible to change the mileage formula.
The bicycles are not available for purchase; they are available for rent only. Indeed, Véligo Location’s goal is to enable professionals in the Île-de-France region who are interested to try out electric-assist cargo bikes over an extended period and, in the long term, to facilitate the transition to this mode of transportation throughout the Île-de-France region.
The rental period of 3 to 6 months is designed to allow for a real-world test without the significant commitment of a purchase or long-term lease. The ability for a single company to rent up to 5 bikes makes this a unique pilot program tool on the market for small and medium-sized businesses.
To support you in this process, Île-de-France Mobilités offers a rental subsidy for companies in the Île-de-France region with fewer than 50 employees. Find the terms and conditions here.
The rental periods are the same for all bicycles under the same contract. Therefore, the extension applies to all bicycles covered by the contract.
You can cancel your subscription up to the 30th calendar day following the return of the bike by contacting the Customer Service Center via

The Customer remains fully liable for the current month and any remaining months, including, where applicable, the rental of accessories and insurance.

Death of the Representative or the User
Disability of the Representative or the User
Cessation of the Customer’s business activities
A Customer who terminates the contract must return the bicycle along with the locks, keys, battery, charger, and all modifications and accessories that may have been rented.

Bikes
- The Light Cargo Bike and the Long Cargo Bike
Choose parking spots designed for cargo bikes. The rule is to park your cargo bike safely without obstructing pedestrians.
- The Extended Model
Just like a standard bike. However, the width of the cargo box can sometimes make it difficult to park in certain bike racks. Also, be careful not to obstruct pedestrians, as the extended bike may also be too long for some bike parking spaces.
- The Three-Wheeler Cargo Bike
The main rule is not to obstruct pedestrians during short-term stops. If you leave your three-wheeler in a parking space, note that in some cities, such as Paris, parking is free for electric vehicles—which, of course, includes your electric-assist three-wheeler. Check with city hall to find out if this policy applies to the municipalities where you plan to park.
The battery range is 50 km.
Note: For the cargo trike model only, a second battery is included as standard to provide this range.
Yes, for the long two-wheeler and the lightweight two-wheeler, they can be ridden anywhere a standard bicycle is allowed, including on bike paths regardless of their width.
The extended model is the most similar to a standard bicycle. It is therefore easy to use on bike paths.
The three-wheeled cargo bike can be ridden on most bike paths. If the path is too narrow, the three-wheeled cargo bike can, of course, be ridden on the road.
- The Lightweight Cargo Bike and the Long Cargo Bike
It may take a little time to get used to the extended handlebars and the fact that the front wheel is hidden by the cargo box, which deprives the rider of a visual reference point they are accustomed to on a conventional bicycle. Once you’ve adjusted, riding the cargo bike quickly becomes easy and intuitive. Maneuvering the bike when it’s loaded requires some practice and a bit of caution at first.
- The Extended Model
This bike is the closest to a conventional bike, so it’s very easy to maneuver for anyone used to riding a bike.
- The Three-Wheeler
Yes, but it takes some time to get used to it in order to handle turns properly and learn how to maneuver in an urban environment.
👉 We can refer you to partners for training sessions; your Mobility Advisor at Maison du vélo will provide you with all the information during your mobility assessment.
- The Light two-wheeler bike
The light two-door van offers a payload of up to 80 kg in the front cargo area. It is suitable, for example, for medical professionals or tradespeople who transport small equipment, such as electricians or locksmiths.
- The Long two-wheeler bike
The long two-door van offers a payload of up to 80 kg in the front cargo area. It is suitable, for example, for tradespeople who transport larger equipment—such as plumbers or repair technicians—or for home delivery services (meals for the elderly, bakers, wine merchants, caterers, etc.). It is also suitable for landscaping companies or cleaning service providers...
- The Extended Model
The extended model offers a payload of up to 80 kg in the rear cargo rack and up to 10 kg in the front basket. It is suitable, for example, for medical professionals (doctors, home health nurses), landscapers, and hairdressers...
- The Three-Wheeler bike
The three-wheeler is the model with the highest payload capacity: up to 150 kg in the rear cargo box and 15 kg in the front basket. It’s suitable, for example, for construction companies, home grocery delivery, and waste collection. Since loading is done from the side, it’s also easier to load heavy items.
👉 Feel free to take our online mobility assessment to get advice on the model best suited to your business and to test our models.
A chain and a U-lock are included with the cargo bike. The cargo box is secured with a lock.
For the lightweight and extended two-door cargo bikes, the mobility advisor may recommend using a polystyrene box with a lid and lock, which is included in the rental rate.
For the long two-door cargo bike, a lockable metal box is included in the rental rate.
The three-wheeled cargo bike, meanwhile, is equipped with a lockable box.
What's new in 2026

If you’d like to sign up for one of our new plans in 2026, the rates will be posted on our website in December.
Maintenance
A service appointment date will be scheduled within 24 hours of your request (excluding Sundays), either directly through your customer account or via a callback from one of our technicians.
You must submit a maintenance request through your customer account.
Depending on the issue, we will offer to perform service at the location of your choice, particularly if the bike is currently at a partner location. If the problem requires repairs that are too extensive to be performed on-site, we will arrange for a replacement bike.
